I booked because I was going to the 2020 Goodwood Festival of Speed, but it was cancelled due to Coronavirus. The hotel wouldn't refund the booking or let me move it to new dates for free. I couldn't get through by phone, and when someone did answer, they hung up after I explained the problem. Terrible service and very rude. They basically took 329€ from me. A really bad experience, and I wouldn't recommend it.

We no longer wanted the reservation once the 2020 Goodwood Festival of Speed was cancelled for the first time in history due to Coronavirus. Still, they wouldn't give us a voucher to change the dates. There was no offer of compensation or willingness to negotiate, and they stuck to the booking policy as if COVID-19 hadn't happened. Customer care was poor, with rude manners, calls going unanswered and then being cut off. We won't repeat the experience if we go to Goodwood in 2021.

There are three rooms in this small ground-floor B+B, all with two single beds and a shared bathroom. The rooms are okay and have a TV plus tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast is help-yourself cereal or toast in the hallway. Doors slammed quite a bit in the evening, though things were quiet at bedtime. The owners' dogs were seldom seen but often heard when people came in or went out, or on a bathroom trip. The Yew Tree pub is a five-minute walk away, with friendly locals and staff, good company and a good menu. Hope that helps.

Sandy was so welcoming and charming. I had to head home early for personal reasons, and she offered to drive me to the station. She chatted with me the whole way, which helped me forget my worries for a little while. Thanks, Sandy. ☺ It's not the Hilton Hotel, but it was good for the price. You get what you pay for.
