The Plough Inn Hotel

The breakfast was a lovely surprise. We arrived too late for the usual time, but they still happily served us cereals, fruit, yoghurt, waffles, cold meats, cheese and toast, plus hot food. Our host was so gracious. We were in the area for a function and needed somewhere to stay overnight. The room opened straight onto the parking lot, which worked perfectly when we got in at 1:30am. Just remember to check in before 9pm to pick up your keys. Everything we needed was there, from a hairdryer and kettle to tea, coffee, toothbrushes and toiletries. The bed and linen were spotless, and the modern bathroom had fresh towels. There was even a Gideon’s Bible in the drawer. We were too exhausted to take pictures, but the room also had a TV, and there was lots of parking. Thank you, it was a wonderful stay!

My family shared banquet meals, and the service was excellent. I had ginger and pineapple chicken with fresh vegetables and sauce, served with egg fried rice, and the prawn crackers were delicious. I'm gluten-free, and this was the first time in over 12 years I'd been able to eat at a Chinese restaurant. It was an excellent evening meal. 😊

The owners, Mr and Mrs Chu, gave us such a warm welcome. They were friendly and very helpful. We stayed for two midweek nights while visiting family, and the rooms were cosy and very nice, with easy access from the car park. There was plenty of parking too. We really liked the continental breakfast, especially the healthy choices and good quality local Yorkshire bread. We also tried the Mr Chu Chinese restaurant, and the food was brilliant. All four of us enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if we're in the area again. A real hidden gem!

Just had takeaway, and the food was awesome as always 👌
