The Well House Hebden Bridge Entire Cottage

We eventually found a lovely apartment elsewhere, but this booking turned into a real headache. We'd booked and paid months ahead, and the property had even emailed to ask what complimentary food we'd like on arrival. Then, a few weeks later, they told us there was a double booking and we'd have to cancel, adding that they were sure we'd find somewhere else. Finding a suitable place in the first place had already been difficult. The owner wasn't much help. My partner was away for work when asked to cancel, and by the time he got back the owner had cancelled it for us. Booking.com offered alternatives outside Hebden Bridge, where we needed to stay for transport access. We did find another place in town, but had to book extra nights because its minimum stay was three nights. That was not necessarily bad, since Hebden Bridge is lovely, but we were only there longer because that was what was available. The booking.com terms said the owner should cover extra costs after a double booking, yet apparently those additional nights did not count. Other available options were whole cottages at hugely high prices. The place had looked so promising, but I felt the owner had no qualms about cancelling our stay. Fortunately, the other apartment was lovely.

We had a fantastic three-night stay in July, booked for us by Caroline and Mark Agley. Such a lovely, quirky B&B, and every detail had been thought of. We'd recommend it to anyone.

A gorgeous place to stay, beautifully decorated and with all the modern comforts. Its spot is ideal for exploring Hebden Bridge and the Calder Valley.

We stopped here on the drive back from the Scottish Highlands, and had a really comfortable night. The old workshop layout is quirky in a good way, and everything was very clean. I was a little uneasy about parking after reading the owners' comments, but found a spot up the road on the left and it was fine overnight. I'd recommend staying here.
