Knockderry Country House Hotel

Being able to walk down to the loch shore made our stay at Knockderry even more special, and the view from our room was amazing. The food was fantastic, and the staff were warm, welcoming and genuinely great. The hotel has beautiful Victorian character and an authentic Scottish feel, with a romantic atmosphere throughout. A memorable stay in a lovely setting, and we’d highly recommend Knockderry for a charming, romantic Scottish escape.

The drive up was beautiful and set the mood for a peaceful, romantic stay. The Country House itself is gorgeous, full of character in its decoration, and the onsite service was amazing. We enjoyed the full Scottish breakfast, and they were very accommodating about my severe milk allergy. Would highly recommend, and I hope to come back one day!

We arrived early and were given an early check-in, plus a free room upgrade. The room was gorgeous and clean, and the staff were professional and friendly. Dinner’s tasting menu was delicious, and breakfast was tasty, freshly made and generous. Thanks for a lovely stay. We’ve recommended it to family and will no doubt return.

We came without a car and managed a few walks and hikes. There’s also a bus along the coast, though having a car would be a real advantage for a longer stay, since many activities are about an hour’s drive away. The hotel was charming, with impeccable hospitality, and we had a lovely three days. Our room was comfortable with beautiful loch views. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed some nice dinners, though vegetarian options were limited. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and there’s great access to the loch if you like swimming.
