The evening meal was the highlight, with excellent-quality food and generous portions, easily five stars for the food. Breakfast was disappointing, with a poor display of pastries and cereal. The staff, especially the chef who helped with our luggage without being asked and the women serving food and working in the bar, were lovely, friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond. We’d definitely stop in again for lunch or a drink, although our stay and room were a mixed bag. The hotel is well situated, but I wouldn’t call it boutique. Our king-size room was adequate, with a fairly large double bed and clean, fresh linen. The TV had no standard channels because of signal problems, but we could watch Netflix through the apps. The bathroom door was see-through, which was a definite no for us as we don’t want to be seen on the loo. There was a good selection of tea and coffee and the usual biscuits.

We couldn’t get the big steak for two that we’d come for, but the alternative choices were varied enough to make choosing something else easy. The carbonara wasn’t good, so they replaced it with another dish without any hassle. The other six meals were all up to a good standard. Friendly, helpful staff. We’ll be back.

We were there for one night for a family event. The room was lovely, with a record player and vinyl, so I showed the children how we used to listen to music! I’d stay again, though my teenagers felt they needed breakfast from a local pub chain... ahem.

The restaurant food was excellent and reasonably priced for the quality, and the continental breakfast was fine. The hotel is dog-friendly, very clean and up to a high standard, with an extremely friendly staff. We spent last night there. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Cute hotel, though the rooms are small and there are plenty of stairs. Our room was stylish and came with chocolates. The workers were kind, and breakfast was great and free.
