The Catherine Wheel Wetherspoon Hotel

The garden is the highlight here, really lovely in the sun, with separate smoking and non-smoking areas. It’s a shame dogs aren’t allowed, since it’s a pub. The location is central, on Henley high street. We know what to expect from Wetherspoons, and this one has a good selection, familiar food and an app that works well. Orders arrived quickly, and there’s a water station and all the usual sauces. The toilets smelled and felt very plastic, though they seemed clean enough. Prices were much lower than our local nearer London: our round of one beer and one wine was £8 here, compared with the usual £15. There seems to be a hotel attached, but I can’t comment on it. I’d come back for a drink in the garden on a sunny day.

Heather and her staff, Rob, Lilley, Adrian and Billie, are warm, welcoming and amazing. They’ve made it feel like our home in Henley, with a lovely family atmosphere. We love Spoons, and this has to be the best one we’ve visited. You really can’t beat the value. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.

The bacon and egg muffin with coffee was £2.85 and tasted great, much better than McDonald's. Other Wetherspoons breakfasts haven’t been as good as the one at the Catherine wheel's. The young man behind the bar was polite and quick to help, and breakfast arrived in under five minutes. One of the best Wetherspoons around right now.

I’ve been coming here all my life, with everyone I know, and have so many memories. The food and drinks are always great, whatever news I hear about the food. It’s affordable, the atmosphere is still good, and when you don’t know where else to eat, this is the spot in Henley. My boyfriend and I love it, and I think the pizza and chicken strips are the best things on the menu. So good. This place lowkey makes me a big back.
