Hunter Crook

The views from both the lodges and hot tubs were amazing, and we loved meeting the hens and sheep. Our party stayed in Hunter Crook lodge and the Duck House, and I couldn’t fault either one. There were homemade cakes in the fridge and lovely hampers waiting for us when we arrived. A highly recommended stay.

The food was terrific and good value, and our hosts and their extended family of farm animals made us feel welcome and amused us. We stayed as part of our Best of Hadrian’s Wall walk package. The setting was wonderful, the accommodation very comfortable, and the whole experience was lovely.

After a cold, wet day on our Hadrian’s Wall walk, a warm, comfortable room was just what we needed. We stayed one night on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. The accommodation and facilities were excellent, the owners very friendly, and both the evening meal and breakfast were first class.

The evening meal was fit for a king and queen, and Robin and Julie looked after us like old friends. After a long day walking along Hadrian's wall, finding such beautiful accommodation was an incredible surprise. We only stayed one night, which was the sole disappointment. I’d recommend spending a couple of days here, especially with Vindolanda so close. It’s an incredible surprise in itself.
