The Horseshoe Inn

We had my 40th birthday at the Horseshoe with my wife, and it was a blast. It’s a busy, warm and welcoming hotel, despite anything written here. The place was spotlessly clean, and our en suite Four poster room was brilliant, with a comfy bed, a bath big enough for two and plenty of privacy. The huge function Room has its own private bar, and there was so much buffet food that we took some away. The staff are lovely and the food is amazing. We’ve eaten there a couple of times and never had a bad experience. My Mother and other family members have stayed and eaten there too, and love it. Breakfast is cooked for you rather than left under a heat lamp, with plenty of tea, coffee and fruit juice to help yourself to. You’d be a fool not to stay, eat and party there!

We had our wedding here in July 2010. The place changed hands as the date approached, and after that things started moving more smoothly and quickly. Communication and service were great. All our guests who stayed were happy with their rooms and pleasantly surprised, and the food and breakfast were good. I’ve returned for lunch a few times. If I had to name a downside, the room prices were a little high. There’s a Travelodge down the road, but it’s not in the same league. The

The staff and their attitude are what made the stay so enjoyable. The Inn had loads of character and felt tranquil, and both my whippet and I were made very comfortable and welcome. The facilities were spacious and tasteful, and the food was more than acceptable. The rooms were small, but given the price and the short notice booking, we weren’t expecting much more. Ours was clean and comfortable. We stayed two days and two nights and ate all our meals on the premises.

I was there for a wedding and decided to stay at the horseshoe inn for 2 days. The old worldly charm won me over as soon as I walked through the door. My room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was very nice, and the helpful staff made the stay a great experience. A big thanks to two of the nicest blokes I’ve ever met, duty manager Dave and ed! My only regret is not staying longer. I want to come back next year and stay for longer.
