Sean was amazing and took care of everything we needed or asked for. The staff were the warmest and most attentive I've come across in a restaurant or bar, with great tips, good conversation, and a real effort to make us feel at home while visiting from abroad. It's a lovely place to stay or grab a bite, with beautiful architecture and a location that's great to explore for a real Londoner experience. I rarely write reviews, but the team really went above and beyond.

The price is cheap, but service was super slow and the food was a letdown. The burgers only come medium rare, which I really didn't want. The sourdough toast we ordered to share was burnt and hard as a brick. The olives seemed to be about 10% olive and 90% seed. Wouldn't recommend.

It's fairly cheap, and you do get what you pay for, but a few small improvements to service and cleanliness could make this place much better. My room was a little small and the walls were thin enough that I clearly heard my neighbours talking and then having a good time, though it didn't last long. I stayed two nights, and the room wasn't attended to while I was at work. I came back to wet towels, an unmade bed, and a dirty coffee cup. They don't serve breakfast either.

My first proper Sunday roast was at The Princess Victoria, and I was blown away. The chicken was tender, full of flavour, and cooked just right. My friend recommended the pub, and it was definitely worth trying. I'll be back.

The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is talented. I didn't think staying a little farther from the city's bustle would be worthwhile, but this place changed my mind. Spend some time outside with a Negroni after a day walking around a museum. You'll be glad you did. The gin selection is incredible, and get a Guinness too.
