John & Joan made the stay really enjoyable, and I’d happily recommend the place and visit again. They’re kind, helpful hosts who know the local area and clearly want you to enjoy your time in hayfield. I was welcomed with a much-appreciated hot cup of tea. The room was fairly basic, but the surrounding hill views and comfortable mattress made me very happy. I was travelling from Manchester, and it was easy to find and reach by car or public transport. Breakfast was fantastic and kept me going all day.

That full English breakfast was amazing, made with locally sourced ingredients and served really well. The room was great too, with a very comfortable bed and a lovely view from the windows. The couple who run the place are so welcoming and lovely. We felt at home as soon as we came through the door. We’d definitely stay again.

A lovely place to stay, with wonderful hosts who made me feel well looked after. The room was comfortable and had a nice view, sheep included. Breakfast was excellent too. It’s a good base for Castleton, with a scenic drive through Winnats pass. There are a couple of pubs within walking distance as well.

There was tea and coffee when I arrived, and a kettle in the room. I also appreciated having a safe for valuables, which was a nice bonus. Breakfast was tailored to my choice. The owners are so friendly and nothing seems too much trouble. My room was warm and clean. I’d definitely recommend staying and will come back next time I’m in the area.

What a find. I needed somewhere at the last minute, late at night, and they were so helpful and welcoming. The room was comfortable, the bathroom was great, and breakfast was amazing. I’ll definitely stay here again if I’m in the area.
