The owners know the local pubs well, including where to find good food and when places are open, so have a chat with them whether you're visiting for work or a holiday. Breakfast was a proper English one, cooked to order. It's a genuine old-school B&B run by an elderly couple, with tasteful but dated decor and some lovely landscape paintings. There were a few cobwebs and stained bathroom grout, so it won't suit anyone who needs everything spotless, though it was still cleaner than my house. The man also warned me to keep my door shut unless I wanted the cat in my room.

I appreciated being looked after by the elderly hosts, but I barely slept because of the room. It wasn't clean, there were far too many cobwebs, and the internet was slow.

It was only just passable.
