Fleece Cottage

The portions are huge, so arrive hungry! The menu has lots to choose from, and we had an excellent meal while on holiday. We felt very welcome and would definitely return if we were in the area. I only wish it were closer to home so we could visit more often.

Tucked away in a little village or hamlet, this place was a lovely find for lunch. The food was plentiful and really good, with a good range to choose from. Service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. I'll definitely be back now that I've discovered it. If you're too full for pudding, there's a little shop attached with loads of cakes, ice cream and other things to take home.

We sat outside, which was lovely, and the toilets were very clean. There’s parking round the back too. The food and service at this beautiful village pub were amazing, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. We started with bruschetta, then had a lamb, mint and veg pie with chips, gravy and steamed veg, and strips of rib eye steak in blue cheese and red wine sauce with chips and salad. Both dishes were 10/10, with huge portions and lots of meat. We took a doggy bag home, and that sauce was so good I'd visit just for it, lol. They also have a big gluten-free range. We couldn't fit in pudding, but saw one going out and it looked stunning. Well worth a visit.

We had one of the best pub meals in the area here, and we'll definitely be back. It was our first visit, and I'd suggest booking because it gets busy. The place is cosy and pretty, but the food is the real star: everything tasted great and properly homemade. We had soup of the day and halomni salad to start, then trio of sausages and lemon sole, followed by crumble and lemon roulade. The staff were very nice and attentive.
