There were some interesting dishes on the menu, and everything we chose was fresh, tasty and well prepared. We went for a smaller lunch because we had dinner plans, though I do wish we’d come for Sunday lunch instead. The alternatives we had were perfectly respectable. The seating was clean and comfortable, and the location was lovely. Service was kind, clear and efficient, with attentive, pleasant staff. They use local products, and there are water bowls for dogs in several areas. Happy to recommend and visit again.

We stopped in during a walk from Blakeney to Cley beach for excellent coffee and frangipane tart. Later we came back for lunch, which was just as delicious. My mum, my sister and I all thought the chowder was “lip smacking,” and I had a fabulous fish platter. It’s a lovely space with charming service. Hope to return for dinner soon.

The evening fish stew was good, but the serving was small. The crab linguini was listed as a ‘special’ yet had barely any crab; to be fair, they took the cost off after we complained. Breakfast was unimpressive too. You could only choose one item from the menu, and the muesli with compote portion was tiny, hardly two spoonfuls. The room above the bar and kitchen was small and expensive. The young staff were friendly, though they seemed inexperienced.

The room was nice, and the pub and restaurant are lovely. Breakfast was very good; dinner was just okay. A few small problems stood out: a wobbly toilet seat, an inefficient radiator and flies in the dining room. They’d all be easy to sort out with a little effort.
