I went to a colleague's birthday here with his daughter. It's a very nice little local pub, and the staff were really nice.

We went in last Saturday night for a drink, expecting a cosy, welcoming pub. It was the opposite. The place looked drab, the staff weren't friendly, and the few locals who were the only other customers there were downright hostile. The heating being on was the one saving grace. I can see why, if others got the same reception, only about six people were there all evening. We stayed right through out of sheer determination, and as we left at closing time someone shouted, 'Keep in touch!' Dreadful place.

Friends recommended the Sunday lunch, and we were glad we went. The food was excellent, nicely presented and good value. A very pleasant young waitress served us. We'll pass the recommendation along and will certainly return. Thank you.

Felt like a home from home, and we had a lovely stay x The breakfast was beautiful, really nice. Bar staff were so friendly, and Kerry and Jonnie made us feel welcome. It's a long way from Liverpool, but we made it in for the afternoon. Bless him, the gardener took us to the train station xxx

The food is delicious, and the roast portions are just right: enough to leave you full without feeling bloated, with room for dessert. The staff are so welcoming that we felt like regulars straight away. This is the best pub I've ever been to for a Sunday roast, and we've already returned several times. Can't recommend it enough. Well worth driving over from Wrexham!
