Rose Farm

I spent two nights at Rose farm on a moped, my first time visiting Devon. Rose and Richard were welcoming and helped with safe directions and advice on places nearby, which was reassuring. There’s a good range at breakfast, from cereal and toast to cooked food, and Richard and Rosa are happy to accommodate specific needs. Guests can sit wherever they like in the grounds, so there's no pressure to join others if you're not a morning person. I enjoyed breakfast at the table with the other guests both mornings; the conversation was friendly and easy. Rose and Richard were around if anyone needed help. You can hear some traffic because the farm is just off the road, but it dies down after 6pm and wasn't a disturbance. I enjoyed my stay, and found Richard and Rosa friendly, professional and keen to make guests comfortable. I'd recommend Rose farm for good food and company if you're visiting Devon or Sidmouth. Richard and Rosa were friendly and accommodating hosts, and breakfast was a pleasure, both for the food and the company. The egg and bacon were good quality and cooked just right, with cereals, juices, yoghurt, bread and preserves also available. Our room was warm, spotless and comfortable. The decor felt modern but still suited the cottage's original features. The bed was beautifully made, with lovely pillows. I'd highly recommend this B&B.

I only stayed one night, but it felt like much more than that. I was travelling solo, and Rosa and Richard's company made the trip feel complete. They were kind, thoughtful and responsive, full of great stories and experiences, and went the extra mile in every way. I slept comfortably in the shepherd's wagon. The house has loads of character, including a large, unusual-looking hob I'd never seen before. It's a beautiful area and a great change from the city. If you can, book directly with them.

On a rainy day, Richard and Rose gave us such a warm welcome. The Shepherd's hut was cosy, comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was a lovely start to the day, with good food and excellent, interesting company. Thanks to you both.
