Peveril Cottage

PEVERIL COTTAGE is a warm, welcoming place, and I’m looking forward to coming back, even in winter. The whole cottage stayed beautifully warm during our autumn visit. Its old-world charm and simple style are lovely, and it has a long, single-level layout. The price per night compares well with a hotel or pub. The three bedrooms are arranged as two doubles and a bunk room, so it works for families, friends, couples or solo travellers. The compact kitchen has enough cooking equipment and an excellent fridge. There’s a large bathroom with an integrated shower and bath, plenty of hot water, and a loo suitable for children and adults. The TV is large and well placed, with lots of streaming options, and the two big sofas make watching comfortable. As an experienced traveller, I mainly look for a great location, a warm place when it gets chilly, and a helpful, friendly host. Helen is an experienced, empathetic host who gets in touch quickly, and PEVERIL COTTAGE has what I’m looking for. I’m not bothered whether my wineglass has a stem! The location is the best in CASTLETON, just off Castle Street. The George, a brilliant pub with great food, is nearby, and the fish and chippy is only a few steps away.
