The food was beautifully presented, with an imaginative menu and a lovely mix of flavours. The restaurant clearly suits fine dining, but the service made the evening disappointing. It was our first visit, so we didn’t know the routine. We were asked to wait in a room, then left ignored for 20 minutes before we went to find someone and ask them to take our order. We had to ask for everything, including the menu and drinks. Nobody explained the wait, and when the menu arrived it was just dropped on the table. The whole experience felt unfriendly, with very little interaction. At one point we were told they were very busy, although not all the tables were occupied. A bit of cheerfulness costs nothing. Other poor reviews seem to mention the same coldness from the staff.

The owners were friendly and present while keeping things professional, and even moved their car when I phoned because parking wasn’t readily available. The homemade shortbread in the room deserves a mention too, it was beautiful. The rooms are gorgeous, the bathrooms spacious, and the restaurant feels like a Michelin-starred place. I haven’t eaten food like this in Lincolnshire for decades. I can’t rate it highly enough, and I haven’t even had breakfast yet.

We stayed for one night for a family wedding. The staff who looked after us were warm and professional, and the welcome and service were top drawer. Our room was clean, comfortable, and inviting, and breakfast was top quality. A spoonful of baked beans would have made it perfect. The location on the main road may be a snag for some. We didn’t try the restaurant, but I’d wager it’s just as good. Would I stay again? Absolutely. Thank you.

The menu was excellent, and the food more than lived up to expectations. The small team were friendly and professional. The only drawback to the location is the busy main road, though the noise died down overnight. A fabulous experience.
