The Windmill Inn

The pork belly was tender with crisp crackling, and the duck bon bons made a great start. Properly cooked food like this is such a find, especially compared with the overpriced mediocrity back in West London. I’m camping and hiking nearby and was glad someone recommended The Windmill. The chef clearly knows their stuff. The young woman who served me, with long dark hair, said she’d been working full time for four years. I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name, but she was charming and attentive. Wonderful service, and I thoroughly recommend The Windmill.

After the annual Country Market at Danefold Farm, we stopped at The Windmill to sit in the garden and unwind with friends. The locals were friendly, and the bar staff were super welcoming too. They have Guinness and Stowford cider on tap, both served as a great pint. A lovely place to relax over a drink.

A lovely country pub, and the food was excellent. Nearly every menu item had a gluten-free option, with real choice rather than just one or two token dishes. The gluten-free battered haddock and chips were cooked perfectly, as were everyone else's meals. Almost all the desserts were gluten-free too. We'll definitely be back.

We came for a family birthday and found a relaxed atmosphere with really friendly staff. I spotted the decking area on the way out, which looks like it would be lovely in summer, so I’ll have to return for that. My ham, egg and chips were spot on: a proper thick slice of ham, not the packet stuff some places serve, chunky chips, and two perfectly cooked eggs. All the food was very good. A proper country pub in Littleworth, just outside Partridge Green, and certainly worth visiting.
