We got great value for money, and the room was lovely and warm when we arrived, so much so that we turned the heating down. The room was spacious, though the bathroom looked a bit tired. They catered well for our dog. Breakfast had a very good selection, although it could have been a little warmer, and the bread was lovely. My evening meal was lively, a fantastic salmon salad bowl. One small warning, the pomegranate seeds were quite hard and I ended up losing my bridge, though I think it was loose anyway, haha. I'd recommend this for an overnight stay in Hull.

The staff have made our visit wonderful. The receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly, and the security lady was lovely too. Housekeeping brought extra milk and coffee. We also want to thank the young gentleman who served our drinks and evening meal in the bar all evening. I think he was French, though please forgive me if I've got that wrong. He was so welcoming and friendly, and couldn't do enough for us. Every staff member we've met has been a credit to this hotel. It's our first time at this particular hotel, though we've stayed at many Holiday Inns while passing through and they've all been great. We're currently staying in room 126 at the lovely Holiday Inn Marina View. Absolutely five stars. Natalie & John Collins.

It's not easy to find without SatNav, but the accommodation and breakfast were excellent value, and I can't fault either. The hotel is an easy walk from the older part of the city, with its shops and facilities. Recommended eating at Furley and Co and the Minerva pub.

The breakfast was the best part for me. The Chef prepared it just right: no fat on the bacon, poached eggs and wonderful sautéed mushrooms. I can't remember the last time I had a breakfast that good. Staff were very helpful, and the refurbished rooms now have more sockets than I could possibly need for my Mac and its peripherals. That's a big improvement on many hotels I've stayed in, including five-star places where you find one socket behind a chest of drawers and have to unplug a lamp. Well done, IHG! Roadworks made it difficult to get there, though that should ease with time. Top marks to all the staff at Holiday Inn Hull Marina. I will be back!

The staff were friendly and helpful, and reception has been refurbished. But the corridors had poor ventilation, the room heating was noisy, some fabrics were worn, including the sofa-bed pillows, and the intercom didn't work properly. There was a kettle and coffee/tea bugs in the room, but no bottles of water. We'll certainly look for a better hotel next time we visit Hull.
