Mercure London Paddington

The room is extremely small, below what I'd expect of a four-star hotel in London, even allowing for the city's usual space limits. I'm staying at Mercure Paddington with my wife until February 19th, and so far it's been a very disappointing visit. We weren't told during booking that the hotel façade is being renovated. Because of the noise and the view, we have to keep the window closed 100% of the time. That should have been made clear so guests could decide before booking. Breakfast is another surprise: it's at an external restaurant about a two-minute walk away, not inside the hotel, and that wasn't disclosed either. For a property presented as four-star, that setup doesn't match what the category led me to expect. I feel frustrated and, honestly, misled. Experiences like this are why I've gradually stopped staying with the Accor network around the world. I've increasingly chosen other hotel brands that consistently deliver what they promise, with transparency, consistent standards, and respect for customers. I sincerely hope this feedback leads to meaningful improvements to the guest experience.

Paddington Station is right next to Mercure Paddington London, which made getting around London easy for our family, especially with children. We had a wonderful family trip, and the hotel was clean, comfortable, well maintained, with great service throughout. Mr. Claudiu was especially polite, responsive, and helpful. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and make sure we had everything we needed. We'd definitely stay again and recommend it to other London visitors.

Paddington's location was fantastic, handy for getting around London and reaching Heathrow, and the price was good for the city. The room was comfortable with decent facilities. Best of all, the staff were second to none, friendly, helpful, and on the ball from check-in through check-out. I'd happily stay again. 👏

There are lots of good places to eat nearby, and Paddington station is easy to reach. At check-in, Zach at reception went out of his way to find me a room with more desk space. The staff are all lovely, and that's what makes the place stand out. The rooms are on the small side, and the exterior is currently being renovated, but I had a great stay overall.
