Village Hotel Hull

The breakfast team were fantastic, really warm and helpful. The bar's a nice place to watch sports, too. I didn't use the facilities, though there seemed to be plenty to do. The room had what I needed, but noise travelled in from the corridor through a small gap under the door, and the windows let in a lot of sound.

The gym has to be the best hotel gym I've used. It's recently been refurbished and is now twice the size, and having a pool, steam room and sauna is a great bonus. The gym staff are lovely as well. I stay here regularly for work and keep looking forward to coming back. The rooms are roomy, the beds are comfortable, the TVs are big, and everything is cleaned and refreshed to a high standard. You can put out the “Freshen Up” sign if you need it. Breakfast is always good, especially with Lindsay and Jo running things. Lindsay even fetched de-icer from her car for me this week. The other servers are lovely and happy to work around my oat milk requests, and the kitchen team will make lovely poached eggs when asked. The bar has a good atmosphere, and Andy and the rest of the team are friendly. There are sports on and now digital dart boards too. Reception are welcoming and help with whatever you've forgotten or need, from a toothbrush to a hole punch. Thanks to everyone for making The Village such a comfortable, relaxing and welcoming place to stay.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the location is good. There's a gym and swimming pool too. But what kept bringing me back while I was working on a project in Hull was breakfast with Lindsay and Jo. They made sure I had everything I needed to start the day, and were so welcoming that breakfast became something I looked forward to. Their professionalism and service are a real credit to the hotel. I enjoyed staying here, and the service gets five stars from me.

There were balloons on the bed when we arrived, along with a complimentary drinks and cake voucher, a really lovely surprise for my daughter's birthday. A woman had called a couple of days before to check the booking and ask if we were celebrating anything. The breakfast lady was friendly and helpful too. The whole place was clean and in good condition. I liked the bright colours and the little quotes around the hotel. I'll definitely stay at Village hotels again.
