We were between homes for several months and needed somewhere that didn’t charge the sort of crazy rents you see on Airbnb. Finding Herongate by chance was such a relief. The modern, well-equipped apartments allow dogs, and the bedrooms were comfortable and quiet, with a TV in each space. The team were quick to respond when anything came up, though there wasn’t much, and they were happy to help. We also made good use of the excellent leisure facilities, where the club staff were friendly and helpful. The cafe is convenient and excellent value too. Hungerford is very close, with walks over the marshes and along the canal towpath. Thank you so much, Gill, Jane and everyone else.

We stayed in the woodpecker apartment for four nights in July. It was modern and very clean, and the bed was really comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed except oven gloves. It was nice to use the swimming pool, though it was disappointing that the hot tub wasn’t working. I’d recommend the place and would gladly stay again.

Our one-bedroom apartment was clean, modern and comfortably furnished, with a little outdoor area that got the sun. Shops, restaurants and canal walks in charming Hungerford are only about a five-minute stroll away. Staff were attentive and around all day and evening. There’s also free access to a swimming pool and a popular gym on site, though we didn’t use them. A great spot for a few days or a longer stay. Highly recommended.

We picked the place as a base for Bath, Stonehenge and Salisbury, Oxford, and London, all roughly an hour from Hungerford. The accommodation itself is large, nicely decorated and in great shape. At check-in we noticed the cleaner hadn’t changed or emptied the bin, so we called Mark. He came to our room and sorted it within 15 minutes. These things happen, and how they’re handled matters.

The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed. It was lovely, and we could use all the facilities.
