The Three Swans Hotel, Hungerford, Berkshire

Hannah greeted me and was delightful, friendly and welcoming. I had booked at the last minute, and the rooms are very well appointed. She also helped sort out parking because the market was on the next day. My flat iron steak was cooked exactly as I’d asked. A great guest experience, with lovely staff throughout. Thoroughly recommend.

Bruce made our afternoon tea especially memorable. He was cheerful, attentive and engaging with all of us, including the children, and his warm manner really added to the visit. There was a small mix-up over how many people were booked, but he handled it professionally and sorted it out without fuss. We had a wonderful tea, felt very well looked after, and couldn’t fault the experience. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

We only came for a meal, so I can’t recommend the rooms from experience, though they gave me the impression of being very impressive. The restaurant seemed first class, with excellent service. Hannah advised us on wine and clearly knows a lot about it. We were amazed to learn she was only in her second week, as she already seemed part of the furniture, as we say in London. We hope to see her on our next visit to Hungerford.

The staff made me feel welcome like family from the moment I arrived, and our Christmas stay in Hungerford couldn’t have been better. Manager Bruce and the team went above and beyond to make it happy and memorable for all of us. The chef kindly worked around my dietary requirements, offering an alternative for every dish I couldn’t have. Caitlin told me, “we want everyone to be happy!” Olivia, or Liv, was friendly, kind and very efficient, and Evie impressed me with her sincerity and cheerful nature. Oliver also deserves a mention: when I was left an extra night without my family while my car was being repaired, he kept me entertained and was great company. Most of all, I’m grateful to Bruce, who took charge when my car developed a major problem as I arrived on Christmas Eve and could see how upset and stressed I was. His kindness and sincerity in helping me get it repaired meant so much. I’ll always remember his words: “We don't do problems here; only solutions.” He truly lives the hotel's motto, 'HOSPITALITY FROM THE HEART.' Wonderful memories for my family and me.
