Storm Eowyn disrupted our travel plans, so we ended up staying here, and I’d happily come back. The host was warm, helpful and flexible, and the suite was lovely, roomy and comfortable. It’s just around the corner from the station, in a nice part of town beside a charming park. Thank you!

We spent the night before and the night of my wedding in one of the penthouse suites. The location is lovely, but the apartment felt a bit worn and wasn’t very clean. There was a musty smell in the hallway, and I felt I had to apologise to my bridesmaids and family as they helped me get ready. The stairs are uneven, and with no lift, getting down all five flights in a wedding dress was a major problem. There were only two tiny bottles of water and enough coffee sachets for one cup each on one morning, even though we were booked for two nights. The fridge smelled of spoiled milk. The TV in the lounge had no signal, the bath took 45 minutes to fill, the shower was so small I could barely move, and the bathroom sink was blocked. The heating came on automatically, which might suit winter, but it was summer; we would have switched it off if the thermostat hadn’t been broken. The toaster was dirty and full of crumbs. I have an autoimmune condition and can’t eat gluten, so I couldn’t risk making toast and went without breakfast on my wedding morning. A very disappointing stay, especially for the price. I wouldn’t recommend it or return.
The Mulberry Room was lovely, and getting in with the coded lock was easy. Its position right beside the building’s main entrance was a problem, though. Several inconsiderate guests leaving between 6:30 and 9:30 in the morning were talking and shouting loudly. I’d stay here again for the location, but I’d choose another room.
The welcome basket and the way the bed was arranged made the room feel especially warm and homely. My husband and I had a wonderful stay, and the room itself was beautiful and thoughtfully put together, with all the utilities we needed. I’d absolutely recommend these apartments if you want somewhere luxurious that still feels like home.
From the milk in the fridge and bottles of water to everything else we needed, the penthouse was well equipped and immaculate. The suite was beautiful, and I’d highly recommend it after our overnight stay. We loved the views over the gardens and could walk into the town centre. The building has lots of character too. If you’re in Preston, it’s well worth staying here. You won’t be disappointed 😊
