The King William IV

We came for my birthday and had a lovely time. The pub has a great feel to it and sits in pretty gardens, and the welcome was warm and friendly. The turkey and beef were both lovely, served with generous portions of potatoes and vegetables. We finished with Panna Cotta, which was beautiful. We’ll definitely be back.

Elouise was a delight, and many thanks to the other staff too, including Helen and Hayley. Breakfast was amazing. We had a lovely, quiet stay and can’t wait to return. Our room was very clean, with a brilliant bathroom. The shower worked well once I’d read about the pump, and I loved the Roberts radio. We booked too late to get a superior room, which looked much bigger and had two bedside tables. Our little room only had one. The outdoor decking looked beautiful, though it wasn’t warm enough for us to use it. In summer, it would be lovely to have a few beers outside. The mains at dinner were nice, but my sticky toffee pudding was quite hard. I joked to my wife that it could have insulated our walls. I ate it, and it was OK, no more than that. She liked her crumble.

The homemade sticky toffee pudding was a lovely way to finish our Sunday lunch, and you don’t find it like that very often these days. The food was high quality, the tables were well spaced and the service was excellent. We sat in a quiet spot with a view of the pretty garden. We’ll come back on a future Norfolk visit to see family in Hunstanton.

We’d definitely visit again. The food was fantastic and the service friendly and attentive. It was a quiet Monday night in January, so the atmosphere wasn’t quite there, but that’s understandable. I had the rabbit pie, which was lovely, though a little salty for my taste. Seasoning is so individual, so I couldn’t really mark it down. The pudding pie crust was exquisite. V’s steak fries were cooked perfectly.
