The Orange Tree

We stayed one night while visiting the Luminate Display at Sandringham and would happily come back for longer, as we love this part of Norfolk. Our room was a nicely decorated courtyard room with some extra Christmas decorations. There was a good choice of tea and coffee, plus a coffee pod machine. The bed was comfortable, the room was warm, and the bathroom was very nice with toiletries provided. Breakfast was lovely, and the staff seemed very nice.

We stopped in for a late lunch on our way back from Holkham Christmas Market. My partner said her wild mushroom rigatoni was excellent, and I had the Fish & Chips with scraps and curry sauce. It was sublime, the best I’ve had this year, and I’ve had plenty 😳. Two clean plates and two happy customers! 🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂

We stayed in Courtyard room 1 on Saturday 22nd November and were really disappointed. The room looked scruffy and needs serious updating and proper cleaning. There were cobwebs everywhere, including a large spider, dirt marks on the curtains and scratches all over the wallpaper. The furniture had seen better days too. Breakfast the next morning was a disaster. Even though breakfast was included in our booking, we were greeted with, “I think we have a table!” After we were seated and ordered, my eggs royal arrived stone cold, as if straight from the fridge. They offered to replace it, but we’d waited so long for the first plate that we gave up and had toast. There was pre-cubed butter on the tables for anyone to have used, and resealed jam in jars. When we raised our concerns with the two girls on reception, they agreed the accommodation needed updating and apologised for breakfast, but talking to them felt like talking to a brick wall. Needless to say, we won’t stay here again.

Our room was lovely, clean and ideal for our family and dogs. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. We stayed this weekend and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend.
