Plum and Partridge Inn

Oscar, our little dog, had a lovely weekend too, and the team handled Anne’s gluten and lactose intolerance really well. We tried a different room this time, quiet and roomy, with lovely furnishings. The food was exceptional as ever. Thanks to Louise and everyone for taking such good care of us. Another lovely stay at Plum and Partridge, and we hope to be back soon. Martin, Anne & Oscar Bell

It’s much brighter and roomier inside than it looks from outside, with a bar and log burner if you’re just stopping for a drink. The service was friendly and attentive, though remember there’s a 12% service charge. I liked having vegan choices for every course, including two mains, which is unusual for a Yorkshire village pub. The vegan mushroom and ale pie with chips and peas was great. Others with me enjoyed the fish sharing board and said it was really tasty and nicely presented. We had a great evening meal at The Plum & Partridge, which is local to us. It feels more like a gastro pub with rooms than a hotel. There was also a good range of beers, including A/F. Running a rural pub must be tough, and I hope they do well.

The food was so good I was stuffed when we left, and with my wheat allergy it helped that most dishes had a gluten-free option. We drove out for Sunday lunch with my wife, the route was scenic, and there’s parking behind the hotel. The atmosphere and service were amazing. One of the best Sunday lunches I’ve had, highly recommend a visit.

Louise and her team gave us top-notch service, and the meal was incredible. I stayed overnight with a couple of friends; our rooms were lovely and really clean. The pub feels cosy but modern, with plenty of food and drink to choose from. We’d highly recommend a visit and will be back. Thank you!
