Mike and Maura were friendly and helpful, and this is a lovely base for visiting nearby areas. Breakfast offered cereal, toast, yoghurt, fruit, and a fully cooked option, and we had all of it. We stayed two nights and slept really well because it was so quiet. The room was nice, clean, and comfortable.

The village is lovely, with lots of wonderful walks and trails. Mike and Maura were excellent hosts and couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was superb. We had a fabulous five-day stay and will definitely recommend it and come back!

We loved the quiet feel of Owls crest, and Mike and maura were super friendly and made us feel welcome. Breakfast was amazing. We had a fantastic meal at the 'new Inn ' pub next door and enjoyed a walk down to the local beach. We’d definitely love to return for another stay at the owls crest. Adam an Sarah

The garden was gorgeous, and we had a lovely view of it at breakfast. The fried egg was cooked perfectly, one of the best I've had. The welcome from Michael's wife was memorable too. She came in, greeted me by name, then turned to greet my wife by name as well. This B&B has had its current owners for 26 years. They'd stopped taking bookings, but after ten weeks they were bored and reopened, with two or three of the five rooms occupied, for stays of at least two nights. On our first night, we were the only guests because the others had checked out. I got a call from a withheld number while driving, about two minutes from the property. It was the proprietor. Check-in was listed as 3 to 6, and I wondered if they expected us to arrive exactly on time. Michael greeted us and took us upstairs, then stopped to chat at the top. That was a little awkward while I was balancing a suitcase on the stairs. We were in room 3, I think, a twin room that could potentially fit two. The window is quite overlooked, and passengers on a double-decker bus could peer in. Breakfast was lovely, though having a non-musical radio on behind me wasn't ideal, especially with Trump and Gaza being discussed. While I was eating sausage, beans and egg, Michael mentioned cleaning the rooms to prevent COVID-19 and “the vomiting one.” He also apologized while we ate for hoping we wouldn't mind the recent news about “the sexism diseases having no cure.” Eek! The decor was nice, but the rooms and sign need painting and repair. The mattress was thin, like sleeping on a cushioned wire mat. The pub next door didn't have any local independent ales, unfortunately. I'd be happy to try the place again. Mike's eyesight is declining, so don't delay.
