Locking Head Farm

It was so peaceful, with nothing but birdsong to hear. This lovely old farmhouse had a large bedroom overlooking the garden and an en-suite shower. There was a big lounge available too, though the bedroom was spacious enough for me.

A very nice family-run place with straightforward home cooking. It's a quiet spot outside town but close to the main shops, and it's easy to get on and off the motorway heading north, southwest or east. The old farmhouse has been converted into apartments and rooms. A must if this kind of B&B, with or without an evening meal, suits you.

We were made to feel very welcome, and the super breakfast the next morning was just what we needed. A lovely place for an overnight stay. We'll come back next year, before the new housing estates start creeping in!

For a room, it's best to phone or book online ahead. This is an excellent B&B on a farm, though the track there is really rough, which the kids found fun. Weston s mare beach and Sand bay beach are safe beaches for children.
