Priory Hotel

Even with the hotel being refurbished during my visit, the staff made sure it didn't get in the way of my stay. They were so friendly, and the hotel is right in the centre. Breakfast was good, the beds were comfy, and the restaurant seemed popular with both guests and locals.

The staff were pleasant and helpful as always, but the meal was a letdown. The fish batter was soggy and tasteless, and the carrots were overcooked. The restaurant was noticeably quiet on this early evening visit, unlike on previous trips. I've had lots of enjoyable meals here over the years and usually say, "we will go out to Beauly -always a good meal at The Priory." Maybe I just chose the wrong thing yesterday.

We were only passing through and waiting for a bus when my wife started feeling unwell, so we went into the cafe to see if some tea might help. The staff brought her a cool, damp cloth and, as the bus was coming, gave us some bags in case she got sick on the ride. She did, and we’re very grateful for how they helped us during our brief visit. This is a review of the cafe and its hospitality, which I trust is reflected throughout the hotel. I wanted to share my thanks for others to see. The Priory Hotel and their staff will take care of you.

The vegetarian pizza was just about okay, and at 12,50 GBP it left me underwhelmed, especially since a local resident had recommended the restaurant. The thin crust was more like a crisp baked cookie than anything Napolitano style. The cheese tasted flat, and the pineapple pieces had hardly any flavour. I almost never need to add pepper to a pizza, but this one did. There was only a homeopathic amount of oregano. This review is for the Restaurant only.
