Seasiders

We stayed in this purpose-built holiday apartment six or seven times over four years, around 2007/8 to 2011/12, when Anne owned it. Every visit it was immaculate and luxurious, with wonderful views. There’s safe off-road parking and a spot reserved for you. Ilfracombe works well for couples and families, with little amusement arcades, great shops, pubs, takeaways and restaurants where you can eat in. La Gendarmerie was a particularly fantastic restaurant. Its chef was mentioned in the Michelin Star guide one year. I was lucky enough to eat at Ramsey’s Restaurant in Royal Hospital Road, Chelsea, and La Gendarmerie’s food was almost on a par, at a fraction of the cost. I don’t know if it’s still trading. There’s also plenty of mainstream shopping on the high street. We hope we can stay in this beautiful apartment again one day. 10/10 across the board.
