Travelodge Ilminster

Reception were very helpful and offered to move us. The room felt shabby, with just two sockets, both across the room from the bed, so charging phones there wasn't convenient. The trim on the soap dispenser over the bath was broken and hanging down, and the duvet barely covered the bed.

The staff were great and very helpful, and the rooms were generally clean, so that's why I gave two stars rather than one. The place is very dated, with old smells in the rooms. The window opener was broken and the window didn't feel secure. Calling it no frills is putting it mildly. It's just passable if you're there to sleep and move on. I'd strongly suggest updating everything and offering better breakfast choices.

There was tobacco scattered over the floor and in the chair, and the chair in our room was dangerously broken. Across our two rooms, there were pubic hairs in the bathrooms, dirt on the walls that we wiped off ourselves, and awful mattresses. Horrendous stay. Any money saved isn't worth it, so stay somewhere else. I would never stay in a Travelodge again.

Kacie was an absolute star, giving my husband and me extra towels and making us feel looked after from the moment we arrived. The location is brilliant for a pit stop between London and Cornwall. It's a little dated, but still clean and tidy. We look forward to coming back soon, thanks.
