“Alex” at the beachcomber inn was the standout for customer service. He was brilliant with me, my partner and our child, and the laughs he gave us will always be part of our first visit to Butlins. We came for our daughter’s 2nd birthday, our first time there, and the resort was absolutely massive with so much to do during the stay. Everyone we spoke to was extremely helpful. Thanks for a great time, and we’re looking forward to coming back next year.

There’s loads to do on site for different ages, with great photo opportunities, and activities and price were great. The shows for young children, like snow white, were far too loud for our little ones, though, so we had to leave. Our third visit was a mixed bag for accommodation. The first room was great, the second quite dirty with woodlice and general dirt, and this time we upgraded to an apartment but found a dirty room again: a small patch of mould on the wall, a messy sofa, a big carpet stain and rubbish on the floor, including hair clips, a berry bramble and packaging. We raised it with the team, who moved us to another place that was lovely, clean and much better quality. The accommodation team handled the complaint well. Red coats were fabulous, really interactive and friendly. Shop staff were hit and miss, and the new chopsticks staff were terrible, messy, fooling around and lacking professionalism. The manager at the chicken restaurant also came across as intense, serious and stressed. There’s lots to do around the area too, including the market, aquarium and other things in skegness.

I’d asked for a caravan in a quiet area because I’m autistic, and it was in a lovely quiet spot. I didn’t want to ask to move after that. But the gold caravan really didn’t feel gold: the carpet was black and stained, the bedding was stained and the TV didn’t work. We made the best of it because toddlers love caravan holidays. The play area is brand new and really good, and it’s lovely and quiet to walk around in the morning.

We had another great holiday. Guest service was great, and maintenance came quickly after a little mishap. The catering staff and cleaning crew did a great job too. Good fun for the whole family.
