8 Birth Caravan Based on Coral Beach, Ingoldmells

The caravans here are really nice and sizeable, all clustered together. It’s central and you can walk to most attractions, including fantasy island and Butlins resorts. skegness and other places are just a bus ride away. I’m almost tempted to keep this review to myself in case it gets harder to find a place here when I visit Ingoldmells again.

The site is filthy, inside and out, and the caravans are awful. The kettles aren’t cleaned properly, the TVs barely get any signal, and there are potholes everywhere. The sewer stinks too. The launderette only opens from 9 am to 5 pm, and you need tokens. Buying those takes cash, and good luck finding the woman with the tokens, she’s out for pretty much half the day. No one seems able to understand basic English. The local entertainment/pub doesn’t open until Fridays. Staff were highly rude, and the pipes in the booze at the entertainment/Pub need cleaning or something, because my beer tasted awful and I had to ask for a full refund. There were cats lying around inside, so if you have allergies, good luck. Won’t be coming here again.

We’ve been coming to this site for a few years and know the staff. During our week’s holiday, there was a disturbance outside near the caravan and Sealands pub. Someone shouted for help, and my partner and sister went out to see what was happening. They came back and explained it, and we thought no more of it. A couple of days later, we told the manager about what had happened. Right away, we were banned from Sealands and coral beech. We tried to explain that we weren’t involved in any fights that evening, but were told we couldn’t enter the club or pub and had to speak to the manager. Talking to her was a waste of time. She was rude and uninterested in our explanation, only repeating that we weren’t allowed anywhere on site except the caravan. We won’t stay there again. It’s gone downhill.

We hired a nice caravan from a private owner, which was the only plus. There’s nothing much to do on site, and I’m not sure why it’s called a Leisure, it’s just an ordinary caravan park. There are no attractions apart from some amusement that opens very late, with half the machines broken and the rest not worth putting a penny into. No ball games or barbecues are allowed. On a rainy day there’s little to do with children, just stay bored in the caravan watching TV. Most of the lamp posts don’t work, so after dark it’s pitch black and you can’t take a dog for a walk. Wouldn’t stay at this site again.
