Butlin's Resort, Sleeps 6 w Parking & Pet-friendly

The kids were happiest at the pool, while the shows were my favourite. There were loads of great shows and activities included, and our fairground room was clean and comfortable when we visited at half term. We liked being able to get kids’ meals for £1 between 12-3pm, so we mixed self-catering with eating out. We go every year, it’s a really entertaining break for the school holidays.

Everywhere we went, staff welcomed us with a smile. People in every role went above and beyond, they’re a real credit to the company. This was my first 70s weekender at Skegness, just three days, and the whole thing was overwhelming in the best way. There was so much fun and so much to see and do. The restaurant area was clean, modern and really nice, with delicious food and plenty of choice. I’m hoping to come back with friends next year. It’s sad to read they’re cutting jobs, and I hope that doesn’t affect the venue.

The entertainment was brilliant, especially the masked singer and electric city. What made the holiday for us, though, was how great all the staff were from start to finish. The person helping us check in was on her first day and seemed a bit unsure, so I reassured her it was fine. She could have used someone alongside her. I hadn’t been to Butlin’s since I was 10, and now at 26 it was amazing to relive those childhood memories.

Over five days, I lost my wallet, my daughter’s goggles and her teddy, and each one turned up straight away or was handed in. It felt really safe, and there was always something to do, with an amazing number of shows throughout the day. This was our third trip together and the best yet. The staff were friendly and chatty, and made my daughter feel included. I’d love a quiet evening bar for the nights when you need a little downtime after being busy all day. One night the snooker bar stayed open later for a football game, and it was lovely to relax there before bed. It’d be great to have somewhere like that to unwind most nights.
