Innis House

The house was filthy, and my room hadn’t been cleaned when I arrived. There was dust and staining everywhere, including on the bedding, plus lots of moths and dead insects. The wood felt sticky, as if it hadn’t been properly treated or cleaned. The dog also barked a lot and snarled, and didn’t seem well trained. I bought my own bedding, which the landlord accepted, but he still insisted on keeping it, even though he already had his own bedding. I couldn’t understand why, given that it was meant as compensation. I found the landlord incredibly rude and unprofessional. When I explained that my girlfriend is selectively mute because of a condition, he asked whether she was “normal” and called her “a girl lurking in the shadows.” He seemed to expect younger women to talk with him. He also appeared to get drunk every night. The housekeeper Hugh was rude and condescending too; I found him and Martin to be a rude, dirty pair of housekeepers. I used to work at Inverurie Morrisons. After the landlord learned I’d left bad reviews, he happened to catch me at work and acted aggressively and entitled, which felt intimidating. Stay away. I’d stayed for less than a month before he told me to leave, and he didn’t refund me.
