The host went out of their way to make sure we had a comfortable, relaxing stay, and we’d happily return to this cottage. It’s well placed for a walk along the River Ness or into the city centre, and the train station is also within walking distance. Parking for one car is included.

The central location and price were good, but we left a night early because the beds were so uncomfortable. The bedroom mattress was rock hard, and the old sofa bed creaked with every movement. Its foot end was higher than the head, so you had to sleep at an angle. The place is advertised for four, but it’s tiny and four people would be a squeeze. It might do if you want somewhere cheap for a night or two, but a longer stay would be very uncomfortable. The house also smelled of a dirty mop and stale cigarettes. There were broken glasses in the cupboard, and the bedroom wardrobes were dirty so we couldn’t hang clothes up. The iron’s broken plug socket was a serious safety concern, as were the loose wall sockets in the living room. The toilet is in the kitchen behind a sliding door, and using it leaves the kitchen and living room smelling.

My dad and I came here from the US in 2019 and had a lovely stay. The bathroom felt unfamiliar at first, but we worked it out. It has a great atmosphere, and we could easily walk to lots of shops, pubs, and sights. A cosy place to stay in Inverness.

We had the best time in this lovely cottage. It’s a warm, comfy place, an easy five-minute walk from River NESS and town. The dairy is just two minutes away on foot for emergency supplies. ❤️

It’s a beautiful little cottage, cosy and nicely decorated, and I’d love to come back. Everything was spotless and well looked after, with a super-comfy bed, a sofa bed, and all we needed for a lovely short holiday. I’d recommend it. The trouble was finding the heating system and figuring out how to use it. The heat went off in the evening, and we were cold all night. Once we finally found the controls, we still couldn’t work out how to keep the place warm during our stay.
