Macdonald Drumossie Hotel

Our double room had a lovely garden outlook and plenty of space, and it was very comfortable. The food was tasty, nicely presented and good value. We booked a DB&B deal that let us bring our dog, which worked perfectly. From arrival, reception gave us a warm welcome, and everyone on staff was friendly and professional. We really enjoyed our recent stay at The Drumossie Hotel and would return without hesitation when we're in the area.

There was plenty of parking, which made getting to the expo easy and stress-free. We had a lovely time at the Macdonald Drumossie Hotel: the venue was presented really well, the food was great and all the staff were welcoming and friendly. I’d definitely come back for another event.

Dinner service was dreadful. Our meals were dropped on the table with a casual “there you go,” which felt like being treated as a dog. I had to ask for the wine menu, and it took ten minutes to arrive. After I finished eating, my plate was cleared 45 minutes later, and nobody acknowledged that I had the menu and wanted to order a glass of wine with dinner. Earlier, our tour group waited an hour and four different guests had to ask for a drink in the “lounge.” The other people at our table agreed this was the worst service they’d experienced.

The Highland breakfast was a letdown for me: no haggis or sausage Lorne, and hardly any beans. Restaurant prices were a little steep, though breakfast itself was fine. The hotel sits in a scenic spot just outside the city, and the rooms were clean, tidy and roomy. WiFi barely reached the rooms and only seemed to work when we were at reception.
