We tried a few hotels nearby, but this is our favourite and we'll surely be back. We returned to this tucked-away Premier Inn after staying last year. It's a bit dated and due for a refurb, but the peaceful location works perfectly for visiting family in the area. The staff are what make it special. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and the teamwork was impressive, especially during a very busy Sunday breakfast with hardly any waiting and a great experience for every customer. Selina's bubbly manner and Justin's calm, thorough service covered the dining room, while Nicole prepared the food so well in the kitchen. Lee came over from reception when an extra pair of hands was needed, and Paul the handyman arrived just in time to handle a problem before it became a catastrophe. Sylvie and Lou kept everything spotless, with Emily helping where needed. Caroline also made great breakfasts on her cooking days. The receptionists we met were helpful and friendly too. Thanks to Lauren, Jaz and Beth for being so cheerful. Thank you all.

The breakfast was fabulous, and the staff made our two-night stay feel special. I think Celina looked after us at breakfast, and everyone was friendly and went out of their way to help. Our room was very clean and cosy, though the rooms feel a bit tired and need updating. We had a very pleasant stay at this Premier Inn. We'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere near Ipswich, and would come back. Thanks, Dawn & Jeff, Sue & Steve.

The pillows ruined my sleep for me. I found them lumpy, hard and really uncomfortable, and a good night's rest should be the thing you can count on. I probably wouldn't return to this one because of that, even though there were positives. The breakfast was very good, staff were friendly enough, and they let me sit in the lobby after checkout with coffee, even offering biscuits. The room was dated but clean, the shower was hot and worked well, but the toilet seat kept sliding off and the loo finish was awful. The TV also switched itself on while I was nowhere near the remote. The lobby snack machine wanted £1.80 for a KitKat, so I gave that a miss. The food at the unrelated pub next door was very good, though book a table ahead.

The staff worked hard to help us, and they even had the breakfast restaurant sing Happy Birthday to me! I had a lovely birthday weekend. The rooms are a little tired and could do with some work to keep this little gem going.

The main receptionist gave excellent service, and all the staff went above and beyond to make sure guests were happy. The location is great, with a covered entrance for drop-offs and pick-ups, and it's close to my POI. We'll definitely return, if only to enjoy and learn from the Suffolk hospitality.
