Irvine Bay Studios

We’d stay here again, but only after the mattresses are upgraded. They were absolutely solid, and when I got home today I went to bed after getting just 20 minutes of sleep. They might suit other people, but not us. We booked two nights in Studio 1. It’s a lovely little studio, nicely decorated and with outdoor space we loved. The room was large, with a big shower cubicle, a table and two chairs inside and the same outside, plus a small fridge and the usual tea tray, kettle, tea and coffee.

Nick is so nice and more than happy to help if you need him. I’ve stayed here a few times, and it’s always my first choice when I visit Irvine. It’s right on the harbour, about a five-minute walk from the train station and shopping centre. The rooms are a really good size and spotless, with a good-sized bathroom and large shower. There’s also a small fridge, iron and ironing board, which makes it ideal for a quiet getaway.

The rooms were lovely and the location was great. There wasn’t really any service since everything was self-service, but that wasn’t an issue because the room was perfect.

I loved the place. It was nice to walk around the harbour and shops, and there are lots of pubs where you can sit down and watch the world go by.
