St Andrews Guest House

The room was lovely, clean, tidy, and very spacious. They sent a code for the front door. The only problem was that the room key lock stuck a few times when I tried to unlock the door. Overall, very good, and I'd highly recommend it.

Disappointed. We paid £188 for two nights in a room with no heating. I didn't realise until the second night that there was a portable heater in the wardrobe, but it didn't warm the kitchen or bathroom. The kitchenette was freezing while we waited for the heating to come on, but it never did, even though the radiators were on. The bathroom smelled damp or mildewy, and my husband had to put two slugs down the drain. The room's lock wasn't working properly when we arrived, and we thought we'd been locked out. The room itself was okay once we got in. I tried every shower setting, but the water kept going from freezing to too warm to scalding.

The room fridge, microwave and kettle were especially useful, since one of my grandchildren has type 1 diabetes and we needed snacks close by. We booked two rooms for two adults and two children. The guest house was spotless, we were comfortable, and the owner kept in touch well. My nephew and his family live on the same street, so we knew just where to go. We stayed last night, 26/11/22, and couldn't fault it. We'd happily book again.

After the long drive from Sheffield, the welcome package was a lovely surprise and just what we needed to unwind. We arrived late, but the staff were fine about accommodating us. The apartment was spacious and spotless, the beds were comfortable, and everything worked perfectly. We'd gladly stay again, and this will be our first choice to try when we return to Irvine.
