The Island Bear B&B

Vikki and Philip made our first trip to Islay amazing. The rooms were great and had everything we needed, and they were happy to help if we asked. The place is in the city centre near good places to eat, with whisky close by. I could go on and on, but you should see it for yourself. Thanks again to Vikki and Philip for making our stay on your island so wonderful.

The house felt so cozy and cared for, and Fillip clearly puts thought into making guests comfortable. Our Cabin 3 room was spotless, with a comfortable bed and a charming little reading nook. It's on the top floor and looks over the bay. The location in the heart of Bowmore is hard to beat: a whisky shop and grocer across the street, Bowmore Distillery a short walk away, and plenty of little places to explore. In our two days, it was also an easy base for reaching the distilleries we wanted to visit in different directions. Breakfast was delicious, with generous portions, great coffee, and both half and full Scottish options. Fillip took our order the night before. There’s a cozy guest sitting room with a fridge, books for rainy mornings, and a relaxed, homey feel. He was friendly, informative, and helpful with tips on buses, taxis, and things to see. Street parking worked out fine for us. Communication was excellent, even though we booked through Orbitz and the app had a glitch. Fillip quickly gave us his personal number when we arrived so we could reach him anytime. Next time we'll book direct through the website. This classic B&B in Islay left us feeling like we were saying goodbye to a friend. It was easily the best stay of our whole Scotland trip.

Vicky made sure we had a very pleasant, comfortable stay during our two nights touring Islay. She gave us a warm welcome, the beds were very comfortable, and our breakfast made to order was delicious. The little B&B is centrally located in Bowmore.

The hosts were warm and thoughtful, and breakfast was a generous, high-quality full Scottish one. My husband and I spent three days there in October and were very happy with our stay. The location was handy too.
