The Crown Inn

We loved our stay. My husband and I spent four nights in the Lidstone room, then moved to the quaint cottage for another two. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, with a special shoutout to Danny. The restaurant was great, and everything I ate was fabulous. I would have liked a few dishes that were apparently listed on an old menu website, maybe something simple like pot pie or fish and chips. I’d definitely return in a heartbeat.

We had a lovely evening celebrating my mum’s birthday. They gave us a warm welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. I’d asked for a quiet spot because my dad has hearing difficulties, and they seated us away from the bar. Mum also received a card from the pub, and they gave us a vase for the flowers I’d brought. The meal was superb. Between us we had a proper burger, a leek and goats cheese tart, and plaice, all delicious and beautifully presented. We felt very well looked after and will definitely visit again. Thank you!

Stopped for a pint during a walk from Haythorpe and had a lovely IPA with Pipers crisps. It's a really nice pub. I didn't eat, though the food seems popular, and I'd like to stay here sometime.

We went in for a laid-back Sunday lunch. The roast was superb and the food was really good. I'd especially recommend the chocolate mousse.
