We had planned to wild camp and watched the forecast, but rain sent us looking for a room at short notice. We booked this for one night the day before and got the last room. It’s a perfect place to relax when the weather turns. I imagine that kind of last minute luck is harder in busier seasons, so booking earlier would be wise. Prices were reasonable, in line with typical YHAs. The receptionist was friendly and easy going, and everything was exceptionally clean. The kitchen had around 16 electric stoves and eight ovens, with good seating for meals and relaxing. Free, good wifi too. I’d happily stay again.

The cooking facilities were great, and the location was perfect. The hostel manager and Nathaniel, David, and Sally made us feel so welcome and worked hard to keep everything clean and tidy. Loved this place. We’ll be back. Best regards, Steve and Dave

I’ve stayed here many times and love the place. This time I brought eight friends along. The location is stunning, and the hostel is clean, tidy and roomy, with a large kitchen and dining room and spacious dorms. The beds are the most comfortable hostel beds I’ve ever slept in. The bunks are silent and don’t creak at all, unlike many hostel bunks. Ted served us this weekend and was friendly, welcoming, sociable and helpful, a real asset to the company. Thank you, Ted. I’ll definitely be back.

I had a lovely stay here. The location is really beautiful, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. My room, the washrooms and the kitchen were all very clean.

There’s nowhere to shop nearby, and Claonaig has no shops either, so stock up in Brodick. I had a great stay in Lochranza. The place is clean and well kept, and the staff and other visitors were all friendly and chatty. There’s a bike shed, drying room and washing machines too.
