Eigg has become our favourite Scottish island. It’s at least as scenic as the others, and community ownership gives it a sense of hope and freedom that some privately owned islands lack. The cafe/bar, restaurant, and shop are all superb. We had an awesome five-day extended family gathering at the Glebe Barn, with five teenagers, four parents, and two grandparents. The hostel is extremely well kept, and every little detail seems thought through. We were there in mid-October. It wasn’t particularly cold outside, but coming back from a walk or cycle to the big, cosy log burner was wonderful. The views and comfortable bedrooms were highlights too. We can’t wait to go back!

We booked the whole place for our group, and the stay was amazing from beginning to end. The “meat and greet” was a lovely touch, they carried all our backpacks to the accommodation. Once there, we found everything you could want after hillwalking, and well beyond what we expected: a brilliant sun room, wood burner, hot showers, and a huge, fully equipped kitchen. The views were outstanding. Really well done.

The location overlooking the bay is idyllic, and the relaxed atmosphere made it a lovely place to stay. The rooms were clean, there were hot showers, and the shared living spaces were plentiful. It was very well equipped. I hope to come back.

What a lovely hostel. We spent four nights here and had an amazing time. Everything was clean and in order, with a large, well equipped kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry facilities, and a fireplace. From room 5 we had stunning views over the sea and part of the island. Tamsin made us feel so welcome on the beautiful Isle of Eigg. I’d highly recommend staying at the Glebe Barn when visiting Eigg.

The house is comfortable and well equipped with everything you need, and the view is fabulous. It’s a lovely spot, also close to the island’s main walking route.
