The setting made it easy to take day trips to Tobermory, Iona, Dervaig and the Aros Waterfalls, and the electric charging worked flawlessly. Connecting a laptop to the TV was impossible, as usual 🤣. We had a sea view suite, warm and cosy in winter, with beautiful views, a modern feel, a good size and brilliant servicing. A few room snacks were included too ;-) Dinner and sunrise breakfast in the main restaurant were exceptional, and the bar food was consistently good, from relaxed bites to more formal dishes. The restaurant chef and Maître D’ were exceptional, and all the staff were genuinely lovely. The spa was another highlight, with an excellent massage, Jacuzzi and sauna. There weren’t many places to lie down in winter, though I imagine summer is better. The pool was busy with local people and kids, which wasn’t ideal, but it didn’t spoil our stay. From outside, the hotel looks a bit like something from the 70s, but inside we had a fantastic few days away ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It was a lovely way to finish our campervan trip around Mull. The hotel is beautifully decorated inside and out in a style that fits the area, and the location is handy for the ferry. Our room was spacious, nicely furnished and had a good bathroom and soft furnishings. There could’ve been more hanging space, and sound carried through the walls, but neither caused us any trouble. Our dog loved his stay, especially the sausages from the amazing, friendly staff. He was welcomed with a pack in the room, and we could order from the full menu while sitting in the bar with him. Food and drinks were very good, and the path down to the beach was a lovely touch. Paying at check-in felt odd compared with similar hotels, and I’d hoped to keep the cost from my wife, so being told “that will be £xxx please” was a bit of a shock. Beautiful hotel, thanks to the team, and keep doing what you’re doing!
Storm Amy was starting to roll in when we arrived at Mull Hotel and Spa last Friday. The rooms were lovely, and the spa had great views. Then the whole island lost power for three days from Friday night. The hotel still looked after us so well. They couldn’t cook in the kitchen, but braved the weather to barbecue dinner outside on Saturday, and the continental breakfast was delicious. Thanks for making my birthday weekend memorable!
The room was on the small side, but perfectly fine, with a pleasantly soft mattress. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the restaurant food was even better than the great views. It’s a perfect base for exploring the Isle of Mull. The one letdown was the spa and pool area. It looked a bit run down and didn’t live up to the online photos or the promised sense of luxury.
The location just off the boat to Mull was great, and the staff were helpful with fantastic service. Our stay was still enjoyable, even though we missed out on the spa treatment. The deal said booking was recommended but not essential, but it turned out you had to book. They said they’d tried to contact us several times, which wasn’t true. The bathroom door was also off its hinge, which is the reason I’ve given the room four stars.
