Island View Room 1

The views down by the sea were stunning when we managed a walk there during a break in the weather. We’ve visited the Isle of Skye three times and plan to come back, and we’d happily book Island View Chalets again. There are only two chalets, so book ahead. Peter was friendly and easy to chat with when we arrived, and his two dogs were lovely, especially the Sausage Dog puppy. The chalet had already been opened for us. It was modern, warm and very well equipped, which was welcome on a cold, wet day. The bed was so comfortable, and the walk-in shower had both an overhead jet and a hand-held one. There was a small sofa and dining table for two. We had a microwave, toaster, kettle, and enough plates, cups and cutlery for two. The hosts asked us not to cook in the chalet. We had brought a plug-in vegetable steamer, but chose not to use it out of respect. If the weather had been better, we might have run an extension lead out and used it on the deck instead. They’d kindly left bread, milk, orange juice, cakes, biscuits and fruit for us. We really enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

The cabin is roomy, has a great shower, and we were greeted by a warm host. It’s a lovely, very raw area, though quite remote and the phone reception is poor. A really nice place for a few nights.

The rooms are spacious and clean, and the little details seem well considered. The views from this beautiful spot are incredible. The one letdown was the weak WiFi, which could use an upgrade, so I’ve given it four stars rather than five.

The owners were so friendly and welcoming, and the room was spotless with a really comfortable bed. Great location and a lovely view. Highly recommend.
