We stayed in room 1, with bathroom 1 across the hall. The room had plenty of space, and the bathroom was modern and clean. It’s a first-floor walk-up and check-in was easy. The carpet felt a bit daggy for a modern room, and there was some street noise, though that’s to be expected in a main area. The bathroom doors were noisy, so hopefully guests are considerate about the sound. I recommend it for couples. Also, be aware that many restaurants seat guests first or only serve guests. Most don’t take reservations and book out quickly, so pre-book if you can. I recommend staying here.

The Tongadale Hotel and Restaurant is right across the street, and its food is beyond good. The desserts, including sticky toffee pudding, fudge cake with chocolate ice cream, chocolate orange cake with chocolate ice cream, and chocolate raspberry torte, are worth skipping lunch for. Rooms on the High Street is an excellent place to stay in Portree. It’s a block from Somerled Square, where Scottish Citylink and Stagecoach buses pick up and drop off passengers. The large room had a firm, comfortable bed and pillows, a mini fridge, excellent Wi-Fi, and a big bathroom with hot shower water. Highly recommended.

As a student, I found this ideal accommodation, right in the heart of Portree. Shops, restaurants, and the essentials are all within a five-minute walk. The customer service was excellent, and I’d definitely recommend it.

Heather, who now runs the place under new management, was lovely and friendly. She answered my questions straight away. It was a lovely, clean place with everything I needed for my stay on the Isle of Skye, in an amazing location and at great value for money. I’d absolutely recommend it and will visit again soon.

They found room for me at very short notice. The place was clean and comfortable, in a great location, and everyone was very hospitable. I recommend it to anyone!
