White Heather

Watching the fishing boats come and go from our window was fascinating, especially as the light kept changing. The breakfasts were excellent too. At White Heather Hotel, our hostess made us feel very welcome. The spacious room was beautifully furnished, with a large TV and the most comfortable bed. The en suite was roomy as well, and the complimentary toiletries were lovely.

The owner made me feel welcome from the start and was helpful throughout. The building looks quite plain outside, but inside the bedroom and bathroom were better quality than in most hotels. I also enjoyed a fantastic hot breakfast and the peaceful view over Kyleakin harbour from the breakfast room. It’s a great combination of hotel style rooms and the personal welcome of a B&B, and I’d recommend it, especially for couples. The only small drawbacks for me were the limited choice of shops and restaurants within walking distance and summer prices, which can be high like elsewhere on Skye. I still thought the stay was well worth the cost.

The scenery around this hotel was beautiful, and the hostess was really kind. I went to Skye with my family and was impressed by the place. The rooms were a moderate size, and breakfast was quite good.

The views, food and hospitality were all lovely, and there were gluten-free options too. The attention to detail really stood out. Everything was so clean, right down to the sparkling bathroom and the shiny juice jars, glasses and cutlery. Five stars almost doesn’t feel like enough, more like 5+. I’d definitely come back!
