The Old Rectory

The room was tidy enough, but that bed was awful, rock hard. We might have slept better on the floor. We didn't see any staff during our visit, which I thought was poor, and there was no breakfast across two days. Without breakfast, it's not much of a bed and breakfast. The bathroom was shared, which wasn't ideal. We won't be going back.

The bed was really comfy, and the room had a basic TV. The owner greeted us warmly and showed us to a room with the heating on. There was an en suite shower room with complimentary shower gels and so on. Can't fault it.

Breakfast is the best, and the rooms are lovely, with everything you'll need. The place was very clean and tidy, and most of all, they made us feel right at home. I'll certainly be going back.

We left early because I felt very uncomfortable after the owner came into our room while my husband and I were out for the day. They took a bed out, moved our personal belongings onto the floor, and hadn't discussed any of it with us beforehand. They haven't apologised for this behaviour and are refusing to refund the last night. The booking.com listing said the bathroom was private, but it was shared with three other rooms. If I'd known, I would have cancelled beforehand because I have a young baby.
